Customers' Gallery

Here we are delighted to share some of the images sent to us by our customers. They illustrate some of the many ways in which the kit can be modified or describe some of the tips and techniques that have worked for them. Others just show a finished model of which they are justifiably proud. Unfortunately we can’t show everyone’s photo as web space is limited but we will try to keep mixing them around periodically.

Mr Seeley, Coventry

As can be seen from the photographs, Mr. Seeley has done a fantastic job modifying the standard kit to his own specification. (Drilled holes in the spars and extra tail fretwork). He advises that after polishing, the parts need to be degreased prior to lacquering (methylated spirits or similar) and used the following products with success. He then lacquered all components prior to assembly, then on completion gave everything a final ‘light’ spray for luck.

Wayne Hall, Australia

This is still a work in progress photo but Wayne has done a remarkable job with this build. If you look closely you will noticed that all the parts have been soldered together. Wayne has said you need to make the notches slightly larger to allow the solder to suck into the joint. But be warned, you will still need a high skill level to tackle this method of construction. The next step in the process is a mild acid dip cleaner to remove tarnish then Wayne intends to fully powder coat the model (Gold). He has promised another photo so watch this space. He also has included another couple of great little mods. i.e. rear view mirror and antenna.

John Griffin, Jersey

Here is a photo from John Griffin in Jersey. John is a very experienced modeller with over sixty years building under his belt. John has taken a particular shine to the airframe kits and has to date built about five for both family and friends. The picture shows one of these Spitfires and a prototype Hurricane. John kindly agreed to test build the Hurricane just to make sure when it is eventually launched everything fits together as it should. I think you will agree he has done a great job.
